Joseph D. Neylon of Stoneham, passed away on Monday, June 9, 2008 at Woodbriar Nursing Home in Wilmington. He was 86 years of age.
Born in Somerville, Joseph was the loving son of the late Denis Neylon and Mary (Doolin) Neylon. Joseph was a warm and caring son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He will be sadly missed.
Joseph was the Executive Assistant District Attorney for the Grand Jury at the Middlesex Court House. He was the Past Commander and Judge Advocate of the American Legion Post # 19. Joseph was the former City Solicitor for the City of Somerville. During World War II, Joseph proudly defended our freedom as a Technician Fifth Grade in the United States Army.
Joseph was the beloved husband of Marjorie (O’Malley) Neylon. He was the devoted father of Theresa Neylon and her husband Jeff Snell of Washington and Mary Beth Talbot and her husband Michael of Peabody. Joseph was the cherished grandfather of 5. He was the dear brother of the late Sister Catherine Neylon S.N.D., Sister Anne Denise S.N.D., Brother Joachim C.F.X., Brother John Baptist C.F.X., Mary Mahaney and Elizabeth Neylon. Joseph was also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM Friday at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass celebrating Joseph’s life in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St. Stoneham at 10am. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend Visiting Hours, Thursday 4-7pm. Parking attendants will be available. Interment St. Patrick Cemetery, Stoneham.
