Haverhill: Judith L. (Bernard) Eldridge age 63 of Haverhill, died Monday, June 9, 2008 at her home, surrounded by her loved ones. She was the wife of Peter G. Eldridge with whom she shared 43 years of marriage.
Born and raised in Salem, MA she was the daughter of the late Henry B. and Dorothy L. (Tardiff) Bernard. A graduate of St. James High School, Judy worked in the cafeterias of Salem High, the Bowditch and Bates Schools for the city of Salem. In 2002 Judy and her family moved to Haverhill from Salem and shortly after her health began to fail. Married to Peter in July of 1965, Judy was devoted to her family. She loved country & western line dancing as well as camping and nature.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Michael P. Eldridge and his wife Janet of Gloucester, a daughter, Anne-Marie Desrocher and her husband James, Jr. of Haverhill, a sister, Bonnie M Irvine and her husband Skip of Groveland, 5 grandchildren: Angie & Jackie Eldridge, Krystal & Christopher Sheldon and Nick Desrocher, and a sister-in-law, Sandy Bernard of Beverly. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Judy was predeceased by her brother, Dennis H. Bernard.
Relatives and friends are invited to her visiting hours on Thursday, June 12, 2008 from 4 to 8 pm at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St., [Rt. 114 / 1-A] Salem, MA. Visiting hours will conclude that evening with her funeral service at 8 pm .
