James J. Albernaz, age 84 formerly of California St. Widower of Jeannette “Jean” (Berube) Albernaz & son of the late Antone & Maria (Correia) Albernaz. Passed away June 9, 2008. He was a lifelong Fall River resident, a member of Holy Rosary Church, a retired foreman for Newport Finishing Co. & a U.S. Army Veteran of WW II.
He is survived by 2 sons: Paul Albernaz of Tiverton & Michael Albernaz of Westport; 1 brother: George Albernaz of FL; 1 sister: Gilda Lima of Somerset; 4 grandchildren & several nieces & nephews. He was brother of the late Manuel, Antone, John, Joseph & Mary Albernaz, Matilda “Tillie” Oliveira & Irene Cabral.
His funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St. Thursday at 8 A.M. with a mass of Christian burial in Holy Rosary Church at 9 A.M. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours Wednesday 4-8 PM.
