Mr. Townsend died Wednesday after a period of failing healthBorn in Brockton, he was the son of the late Walter F. and Helen (Cronin) Townsend. Lifelongresident of Brockton, attended Brockton schools. Enlisted in the US Navy, stationed in Maypert, Florida, returned to Brockton after serving in the Navy.
Mr. Townsend had been employed by Labaron Foundry in Brockton for 12 years; Hal’s Canteen Truck in Brockton; Brockton Cab and Yellow Cab Companies in Brockton and New England Wholesale Drug Company.
He enjoyed woodworking, camping and fishing. He wasMember of Conte Club.
He is survived by a son Walter Scott Townsend of Brockton, 3 daughters Sharon Zablockiof Abington; Laurrie Mahon of Brockton, and Colleen Aniche of Georgia 10 grandchildren, 3 nephews and a niece Brother of the late Carol Lavigne Services as above
