TEWKSBURY - Viola C. (Forsyth) Tareila, age 87, died peacefully on Sunday morning, June 8, at the Fairhaven Nursing Center, where she had been in residence for the past 4 years. She was the beloved wife of George W. Tareila, with whom she had celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary this past March 11.
She was born in South Dakota, a daughter of the late Robert and Beatrice Forsyth, but raised in Methuen. She had lived in Tewksbury since 1944.
Besides her husband, she is survived by a sister Rae Winiecki of Richardson, TX, and a nephew.
She was also mother of the late Nancy Eddy, and sister of the late Lucerne Barton and Basil Forsyth.
At her request funeral services were private.
