Obituary

Richard John Tierney, 64, of Amesbury, passed away in Concord, MA on June 6, after a long illness. Born in Somerville, MA, was the son of the late James F. and Mary (Riordan) Tierney, formerly of Winchester. A graduate of Winchester High School, he attended Northestern University before enlisting in the U.S. Army to serve in Vietnam. Richard was employed as an Employment Coucilor for the State of MA. He was the husband of Camilla (Dorgan) Tierney of Lawrence and the loving father of Brendan Warren Tierney of Lynnfield. He was also the former husband of Arlene Dolan Lynch of Lynnfield. He also leaves behind his brothers: David of Thailand, twin Robert and his wife Cindy of Westford, Paul and his wife Anita of Milton, and four nieces and a nephew. His Funeral will be held Tuesday, June 10 in St. Mary’s Church, 155 Washington St., Winchester. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held in the funeral home on Monday from 6-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to NEADS (Dogs for Deaf Disabled Americans – www.NEADS.org), P.O. Box 213, West Bolylston, MA 01583 or to the charity of one’s choice. Late Veteran U.S. Army Vietnam.
