Obituary

FALMOUTH-Anne T. (McGrail) O’Rourke, 75, of 98 Bonnie Lane, formerly of 8 Ada Street, Worcester died Tuesday, March 4th at home after being stricken ill. Her husband of 32 years, Michael O’Rourke died in 1991. She leaves a son, Thomas J. O’Rourke of Rutland; a daughter, Sally A. Goodhile of Jefferson; 3 brothers, Martin McGrail of England, Peter McGrail and John F. “Franky” McGrail both of Westport, County Mayo, Ireland; 5 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. 3 brothers, Austin McGrail, Patrick McGrail, Richard McGrail and 3 sisters, Mary McGrail, Teresa Lenane and Sally McGrail all predeceased her.

She was born in Deerpark, Westport, County Mayo, Ireland the daughter of John and Margaret (Kittridge) McGrail and moved to Worcester in 1950 before moving to Falmouth 2 years ago. She graduated from Elizabeth Ollis Academy of Hair Design and the Hair Institute of New York. Mrs. O’Rourke was a hairdresser for 20 years for Worcester State Hospital retiring in 1986. Previously, she worked as a hairdresser at the Denholm & McKay building. She recently was working as a greeter at Wal-Mart. She was a former member of St. Charles Borromeo Church, Worcester and was a member of St. Anthony’s Church in Falmouth. She enjoyed gardening.

The funeral will be Saturday, March 8th from O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Charles Borromeo Church, 341 June Street, Worcester. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours will be Friday, March 7th from 5:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 220 North Main Street, Suite 104, Natick, MA 01760.
