LOWELL - Shirley M. (Willette) (Leczynski) O'Malley, died Wednesday June 4th, at Lowell General Hospital. She was the wife of the late William L. O'Malley and the late Myron Leczynski.
She was born in Dracut and was a daughter of the late Arthur and Mae (Walsh) Willette. She received her education in Dracut schools and was a graduate of Dracut High School.
Prior to her retirement, Mrs. O'Malley was employed by Toni's Sandwich Shop in Lowell. Earlier in her career she was employed as clerk for Stuart's Department Store in Lowell and then as a waitress by the former Peerless Diner in Lowell.
In her free time she enjoyed spending time out with friends going to Karaoke, and going to watch standup impersonators. Family gatherings always held a special place in her heart.
She was a communicant of St. Michael Church in Lowell.
She is survived by a daughter and favorite son-in-law Debra and Nicholas Valcanas; a son and daughter-in-law Gary M. and Licia Leczynski of Lowell and with whom she resided; five grandchildren and their spouses Timothy and Heather Valcanas, Nicole and Robert Charlton, Gary Leczynski Jr., Jennifer Leczynski and Kaitlin Leczynski; six great grandchildren Cole, Rebecca, Hayden, Jonathan, Amanda, and Alexander; a brother-in-law Thomas Murphy, many special friends and several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Lorraine Murphy and Raymond Willette.
Friends may call at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT, on Friday from 4 until 8 PM. Her funeral will be held from the funeral home on Saturday at 9 AM, followed by her Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10 AM at St. Michael Church in Lowell. Internment in St. Patrick Cemetery in Lowell. Those who wish may make donations in her name to the American Diabetes Association, 330 Congress Street, 5th Floor, Boston, MA 02110.
