Oliver, Philip D., age 88, died peacefully at home while surrounded by loved ones on March 3, 2003. He was the loving husband of Elsie S. (Sewell) for over 59 years.He was born in Selma, Alabama on November 16, 1914, a son of the late Shirely and Elizabeth (Duncan) Oliver. Philip was a Medford resident for over 60 years and a communicant of Shiloh Baptist Church. Mr. Oliver was an Electrician Clerk for the Clerk Magistrate in Dorchester for 18 years until his retirement.He was an active Mason, a Phi Beta Capa member of his college fraternity. He also enjoyed gardening and traveling.His funeral services will be held in the West Medford Baptist Church, 59 Boston Avenue, Medford, Saturday at 11:00 AM. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held Friday from 6 to 8 PM AT THE ABOVE CHURCH. Interment, Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
