Obituary

NORTH GRAFTON-Frank P. Nichols, 90, formerly of Grafton and Worcester, died Tuesday, June 3rd in Beaumont Nursing Center, Westborough. He leaves his wife of 67 years, Ann E. (Dunn) Nichols; a son, Robert F. Nichols and his wife Candace of Hardwick; a daughter, Penelope N. Sullivan and her husband Charles of Newton; 4 grandsons, Charlie, Tim, Greg and Brian. He was predeceased by 7 brothers and sisters.

He was born in Worcester, the son of Adam and Rose (Matzkewicz) Miklusis and was a driver and sales representative for Town Talk and Nissen Bakeries, retiring in the mid 1970’s. Frankie was a Seabee in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a founding member of St. Andrew the Apostle Church and of Little League in the City of Worcester, including the Bobby Doerr League at Crompton & Knowles Park. Mr. Nichols played semi-pro baseball for the Norton Company and had been a Little League umpire for many years. He was a former member of the Lincoln Square Boys Club. Frankie greatly enjoyed attending his family’s sporting events.

The funeral is Saturday, June 7th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester, with a Mass at 10:00 A.M. in St. Andrew the Apostle Church, 5 Spaulding Street, Worcester. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery, Worcester. A calling hour is from 8:30 until 9:30 A.M. Saturday in the funeral home.
