WORCESTER: Alberta V. (Johnson) O'Brien, 78, of 8 Rodney St., died Monday, June 2, 2008, in St. Vincent Hospital, after a short illness.
She leaves her beloved husband of 59 years, William J. O'Brien; 5 sons, William T. O'Brien, Philip F. O'Brien, Wayne D. O'Brien and his wife Belinda, Jay E. O'Brien, Robert P. O'Brien and his wife Sandra, all of Worcester; 13 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A brother, Philip F. Johnson, and a daughter-in-law, Candace (Tomasino) O'Brien, both predeceased her. She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Albert F. and Beatrice (Knox) Johnson, and lived here most of her life.
Alberta worked for 12 years with the housekeeping department at the former Worcester City Hospital. She retired when the hospital was closed. She was a long time member of Our Lady of Fatima Church and enjoyed spending time with her family.
CALLING HOURS will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 5, in KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 154 Lincoln St. A Funeral Mass will be held at the convenience of the family in Our Lady of Fatima Church, 43 Belmont St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton, MA.
