John K. North Jr., 78, of Manchester, died June 1, 2008. He was born in Manchester, July 14, 1929, and was the son of John and Margaret (Ditner), North. John was a lifelong member of St. Raphael Parish.
He was a graduate of Manchester High School West, and later served with the Army Air Corps. For over forty years “Jack” worked at the former Hermsdorf Corporation, in Manchester.
He will be remembered for his love of all sports, especially the teams from Boston. Jack was a strong and consistent presence at all of his grandchildren’s events. He will be missed.
IN HIS LIFE: Family members included his wife of 53 years, Joanne (O’Brien) North, of Manchester; a daughter, Mary (North) and her husband Paul Dery, of Manchester; 2 grandchildren Michael Dery, and Brittany Dery, both of Manchester; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Calling hours will be Wednesday from 3 to 7 o’clock at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm, and corner of North St.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Thursday, June 5, 2008 at St. Raphael Church, 103 Walker St. Manchester.
Burial followed in St. Joseph Cemetery, Donald St. Bedford.
