New Bedford - Lionel Oliveira, of Mattapoisett, aged 84 years, died May 31, 2008 at Brandon Woods of New Bedford. He was the loving husband of the late Dorothy M. (Cardoza) Oliveira. Mr. Oliveira was the father of Randy Oliveira, husband of Lee of Sebring, Fla. and Barry Oliveira, husband of Dee of Seminole, Fla. He was grandfather of Benjamin Oliveira, husband of Lindsay of Michigan, great grandfather of Adelline Oliveira and brother of Herbert Oliveira, husband of Betsy of Arizona. He is also survived by 2 nephews.
Mr. Oliveira was a son of the late Antone and Adeline (Medeiros) Oliveira. He was born in New Bedford and lived in this area all of his life. Mr. Oliveira was a self employed auto mechanic and former owner of Oliver’s Garage on Dartmouth St., New Bedford. He was also a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII.
Burial of cremains will be done at a later date at the convenience of the family.
