Lucy Rosala Deel Ellerbee, 83, of Enigma died Saturday, May 31, 2008, at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 4, 2008, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Ronnie Vice, Rev. Terrell Roberts and Robert Elder will officiate with burial to follow in Tift Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 3, 2008, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mrs. Ellerbee was born on October 4, 1924 in Dickinson County and was the daughter of Melvin Deel and Delphia O'Quinn Deel, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Thornton Brackett Ellerbee. She was a self-employed house cleaner and attended Grace Baptist Church.
Mrs. Ellerbee is survived by five sons and daughters-in-law, Al and Dorothy Ellerbee of Ashburn, Greg and Lisa Ellerbee of Kennesaw, Mark and Peggy Owens of Tifton, Barry and Barbara Owens of Quitman, and Johnny and Lois Owens of Enigma; two sisters, Kathleen Viers of Ohio, and Vergie Singleton of Virginia; ten grandchildren, Chris Ellerbee, Melissa Fabila, Gregory Ellerbee, Jill Bonilla, Tim Owens, Christie Hooper, Stephanie Rowland, Ricky Owens, Wyatt Ellerbee, and Ethan Ellerbee; and 14 great grandchildren.
