Obituary


Kathleen R. “Kay” (Santry) Kourtz, 91 years of Brockton, died Tuesday May 27, 2008 at Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Nicholas “Nicky” Kourtz. She was born in Rockland daughter of the late Timothy and Ellen (Keohane) Santry and had been a resident of Brockton for most of her life. She was a 1934 graduate of Brockton High School and a 1935 graduate of the Brockton Business School. In 1982 she retired as manager of the Ashfield Elementary School Cafeteria. Kay enjoyed reading, crocheting, crossword, word search and jigsaw puzzles. Until she was 84 she enjoyed weekly line dancing at Massasoit Community College. She had been longtime communicant of St. Patrick Church.

She is survived by one daughter Kathy Boyle with whom she made her home in Brockton, Paul Kourtz of Fairfax, VA and John Kourtz of Raynham; seven grandchildren Meghan and Shaina Boyle, Collin, John Jr., Kevin and Brian Kourtz and Mary Fielding; five great grandchildren Samantha, Alison, Peter, Gabrielle and Rebecca and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Joseph, James, John, Frank, Bernard, Robert and Neil Santry.

Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Saturday at 8am. Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 9am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visiting Hours Friday 4-8pm.
