Mr. Alvin A. Yeaton, 87, of Gorham Hill Road, Gorham, NH passed away on Tuesday morning, May 27, 2008 at his home in Gorham. He was born in Hillsborough, NH on July 21, 1920 the son of Alvin A. and Nettie B. (Scruton) Yeaton and was a lifelong resident of NH. He was a WW II Veteran of the US Army and served with the 422 Infantry, 106th Division. Prior to his retirement he worked as a construction foreman for several contractors. He was a member of Gorham-Sabatis Lodge #73 F&AM as a 32nd Degree Mason; a member of the American Legion; the Littleton Post of the VFW; a member of the Veterans of the Battle of the Bulge, Tri State Chapter 317 and a member of the National Rifle Association.
Members of his family include three daughters Anita L. Bixby of Gorham, NH, Rachel A. Mitchell of Concord, NH and Penny Wilkens of Hillsborough, NH; one son William A. Yeaton of Newport, NH; seven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; several step children and step grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Lillian M. Leeman.
Funeral services will be at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by the Bryant Funeral Homes in Berlin and Gorham.
