Felix Mercado, 76, of New Bedford died Sunday March 2, 2003 at St. Luke's Hospital. He was the husband of Mercedes (Rodriguez) Mercado.
Born in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, he lived in New York before moving to New Bedford 30 years ago.
Mr. Mercado was formerly employed as a maintenance worker at Calvin Clothing and the Claremont Company.
Survivors include his wife; 3 sons, Felix Mercado, Jr., Eddie Cruz, and Enrique Cruz, all of Puerto Rico; 2 daughters, Juana Negron of Dartmouth and Magdalena Cruz of New Bedford; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.He was the father of the late Daisy Mercado.
His Committal Service will be held on Wednesday March 5, 2003 at 1:15 PM at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. Visiting hours at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford Tuesday March 4, 2003 4-7 PM.
