Obituary

DRACUT - Donald E. Kendall, 80, a lifelong resident of Dracut died Tuesday May 27th at Lowell General Hospital, following a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Rita (Bishop) Kendall, with whom he would have celebrated his 60th wedding anniversary in February.

He was born in Dracut on February 12, 1928 and was a son of the late Walter and Alice (Monette) Kendall. He received his education in Dracut schools.

Prior to his retirement, Mr. Kendall was employed for 20 years as a bricker by BTU Engineering in Billerica. Earlier in his career he was employed for 20 years by the former Faulkner Mills in N. Billerica.

In his free time he enjoyed model airplanes, woodworking, gardening, and going for walks.

In addition to his wife,he is survived by two sons, Donald E. Kendall Jr., and his wife Barbara, and Richard A. Kendall and his wife Cheryl, all of Center Barnstead, NH; two daughters Sandra Ouellette of Lowell, and Cynthia Gross of Peaks Island, ME; 10 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; a brother Walter Kendall and his wife Jean of Dracut; and many nieces and nephews.

He was also the brother of the late William Kendall, Gerald Kendall, and Robert Kendall.

Friends may call at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT, on Thursday from 3 until 7 PM. His funeral will be held from the funeral home on Friday at 12 Noon, followed by his Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 1 PM at St. Mary Magdalen Church in Dracut. Burial in Oakland Cemetery in Dracut. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to the American Lung Association of MA, 460 Totten Pond Road, Suite 400, Waltham, MA 02451.
