
Robert Anthony Palazzo, age 65, died peacefully with his wife and children by his side on May 23, 2008 at Lawrence & Memorial Hospital.
Robert was born to Andrew and Philomena Palazzo on August 14, 1942 in Providence, RI. He grew up in Barrington, RI and graduated from Providence College in 1964 and received an MBA from the University of New Haven.
Bob married Elizabeth Cox Palazzo in 1969, who survives him. They have resided in Mystic for 35 years. He will be greatly missed by his two children, Theresa Palazzo of Brooklyn, NY and Thomas Palazzo and his wife Beth of Waterford, CT. His precious grandson, Colin Palazzo, also survives him. He leaves behind two brothers, Nunzio Palazzo and his wife Fran of Barrington, RI and Antonio Palazzo and his wife Gay of Lebanon, NH, a brother-in-law, Charles Cox and his wife, Linda of Charlotte, NC. Many nieces and nephews will also miss him.
Bob worked in Purchasing at Electric Boat in Groton, CT for 27 years before retiring in 2000. He was having so much fun he returned as a consultant in Purchasing for 5 more years, part-time. His greatest passion was golf which he played since he was 8 years old and was on the golf team at Providence College. He had been a member of Shennecossett Golf Course for many years. We are absolutely positive he is up there walking around 18 holes. His family and many close friends will miss his sense of humor.
His family will greet relatives and friends at The Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Historic downtown Mystic on Wednesday from 6-8pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 12noon at St. Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Church, 69 Groton Long Point Road, Groton . Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be directed to the American Heart Association or the charity of the donor's choice.
