Norman M. Appleyard Jr. of Lincoln, Boynton Beach, Fl and formerly of Weston died on Monday May 19, 2008 at the Hospice of Palm Beach County. He was 94 years old. Born in Waltham, Norman was a graduate of Newton High School Class of 1931, Worcester Academy Class of 1932 and Brown University Class of 1936. He was a resident of Weston from 1957-1978 and resided in Lincoln and Boynton Beach from 1978 to the present. Mr. Appleyard was the former owner and president of P.G. Gray Company in Weston, the oldest meat packing house in the country. He was a member of Norumbega Lodge AF & AM, the Weston Golf Club and Quail Ridge Country Club In Boynton Beach. The beloved husband of Lillian (Taylor) Appleyard, he was the devoted father of Barbara Jackson of Hobe Sound, FL, Linda DuPuy of Boynton Beach FL, Judith Cornwell of Plymouth and Norman M. “Skip “ Appleyard III of East Orleans. Loving grandfather of 12 and proud great grandfather of 19. Funeral services at the Congregational Church of Weston, 130 Newton St. Weston on Saturday May 24th at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours at the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Ave Needham on Friday 4-8 PM. Interment Newton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation of Massachusetts, 129 Morgan Drive, Norwood, MA 02062 and to the Congregational Church of Weston, 130 Newton St. Weston, MA 02493.
