Hal C. Young, 59, of Fitzgerald, died Monday, May 19 at Dorminy Medical Center in Fitzgerald.
Funeral services will be held 4 P.M., Wednesday, May 21 at Paulk Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
Mr. Young was born October 3, 1948 in Fitzgerald to the late Arthur and Frances Kollock Young. He lived in the community most of his life. Mr. Young was owner/operator of Fitzgerald Pawn Shop. LCPL Young served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal w/1*, Combat Action Ribbon, Purple Heart Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal w/device, RVN Cross of Gallantry w/palm and Rifle Marksman Badge. He was a member of the D.A.V. and he was of the Holiness faith.
Mr. Young is survived by his wife, Vicki Young of Fitzgerald; children, Tara Young of Camilla, Asher Young of Miami, FL, Aaron Young of Sandy Springs, April Okken of Beebe, AR and Tiffany Allison of Fitzgerald; granddaughter, Hailey Young; mother: Frances Kollock Young of Fitzgerald; brother, Gary Young of Baconton and a sister, Cecilia Young of Fitzgerald.
