Antonio G. Andrade, 92, of New Bedford died Sunday May 18, 2008 at Alden Court Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born in Plymouth, the son of the late Fortunato and Mariana (Gonsalves) Andrade, he lived in Cedarville for most of his life before moving to New Bedford 40 years ago.
He was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Assumption Church.
Mr. Andrade was formerly employed as a foreman for Campanella and Cardi Construction Company, Gilpam Construction Company in Hyannis, and Tilcon Warren Contruction Company.
He was a life member of the United Social Club. He loved spending his leisure time on Cape Cod.
Survivors include three children, Ronald Andrews of Fairhaven, and Carol Fonseca and Beverly Gonsalves, both of New Bedford; two brothers, John Andrews of Atlanta, GA and Henry Andrade of New Bedford; three sisters, Mary Silva and Jennie Gomes, both of New Bedford, and Rose Cardoza of Phoenix, AZ; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his longtime companion and best friend, Louise Pina of New Bedford, and her children and grandchildren.
He was the brother of the late Louis, Frank, and Sylvester Andrade.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 9 AM at Our Lady of the Assumption Church. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery.
