Kane, Margaret Ann (Herlihy), 82, of North Easton and North Falmouth, formerly of Brockton and Abington, passed away Sunday, May 18. Beloved wife of the late Kenneth F. Kane who passed away December 19, 2007, to whom she was married for 60 years. Loving mother of Kathleen K. Norton and her husband Richard of North Easton and Pocasset, Paula K. Norton and her husband Jack of North Easton and Mashpee, and Timothy F. Kane of North Falmouth. Also mother of the late David F. Kane who passed away June 9, 2007. She also leaves three granddaughters, Elizabeth N. Woods, Christine K. Norton, and Jacqueline M, Norton, all of South Boston. Born in Brockton, daughter of the late John D. and Anna J. (Leahy) Herlihy and sister of the late Helen B. Keefe, Maureen Ryan, and David Herlihy.
Pegge was an accomplished artist and a member of the Shoveltown Artists and the Robert Arthur Art Group. She also enjoyed golf, knitting and needlepoint and took classes in weaving, ceramics, piano and tap dancing. She ice skated backwards proficiently. She was a caregiver extraordinaire, having taken care of her mother, her brother David, her son David, and her husband Ken.
Pegge loved to entertain and was a gracious and witty hostess. Above all, she was a lady.
Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Thursday at 8am. Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Brockton at 9am. Burial will be held Friday at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. Visiting hours Wednesday 4-8pm.
