Obituary

Sara Livingston “Sug” Farmer, 79, of Fitzgerald, died Sunday, May 18 at Dorminy Medical Center in Fitzgerald.

Memorial services will be private.

Mrs. Farmer was born January 9, 1929 in Ben Hill County to the late Johnny Livingston & Ida Mae Player Livingston Adkinson. She was a 1948 graduate of Rochelle High School and attended nursing training at the Ben Hill County Hospital. She was a homemaker and had lived in the community for the past four years, having lived in Winter Harbor, Maine for 38 years. An avid reader, Mrs. Farmer was a good cook and loved to garden and grow flowers. She was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by her children and their spouses: Betty Jo Williams and Stephen of Fitzgerald, Joanie Stanwood and Gary of Steuben, Maine, Denise Cribb and Charles of Fitzgerald, and Jack Kyle “Snapper” Farmer and Shelley of Carmel, Maine; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; as well as two sisters and a brother-in-law: Betty L. Kitchens and Henry of Fitzgerald and Dona L. Fletcher of Irwinville. She was preceded in death by her husband: Jack K. Farmer, one brother, two sisters, and a grandchild.
