Tommie Gerald Ellis, 65, Indian Mound, died Saturday, May 17, 2008, at Veterans Hospital Nashville following a short battle with cancer. The funeral will be held at 1pm Wednesday at Neal-Tarpley Chapel. Visitation will be from 11am till the hour of service Wednesday at the funeral home. The remains are to be cremated. Neal-Tarpley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. He was born in Arkansas on Oct. 30, 1942 son of Charlie Ellis and Glardys Ellis.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Nora Barnes. He was a baptist and retired from DynCorp. He was a US Army Veteran. He is survived by his wife Lavada Ellis of 45 years, Indian Mound, one son Joseph Todd(Mabel) Ellis of Indian Mound, two daughters Laura Svorec of Sodus, MI(Bill Oehler), Angela(Mike) Brewer of Niles, MI. three brothers Carlon Ellis of Benton Harbor, MI, Laymon Ellis of Lafe, Ark.,Jimmie Ellis of Fort Worth, TX.four sisters Louise Deckelman of Harrisburg,Ark,Charlene Davidson of Lake City, Ark, Patricia Van Don of Paragould,Ark. Donna Ellis of Little Rock, Ark, ten grandchildren Max Brewer, Miki Clymer, Jodee Miller, Christopher Oghler, Amanda Freeze. Kaitlin Ellis, Kylie Svorec, Zakary Svorec,Elizabeth Ellis and Nathaniel Ellis and seven great grandchildren.
