Claire D. Fowler, age 72 of Medford, formerly of Boston’s North End, died Saturday in the Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Medford. Wife of the late Robert J. Fowler.
Born in Boston, daughter of the late Joseph and Jennie (Fiorelli) DiOrio, she is a graduate of Julie Billiart High School, class of 1953. She has been a Medford resident for the past 26 years. She worked as an Office Manager, employed by New England Telephone until her retirement several years ago.
Mrs. Fowler loved family gatherings, time spent at the Medford Senior Citizens and was a faithful communicant of St. Clement Church. She was well known for her vibrant personality and “no nonsense” approach throughout life. An avid animal lover, she will be sadly missed by her 3 cats, Chubby, Momma and Max.
She leaves a son John Fowler and his wife Mary of Reading, Loving Grandmother of John “Sonny” Fowler Jr, Paul, Carla and Peter Vasta, Dear aunt of Grace Ann ”Pebbles” and Stephen DiOrio, William, Jennie, Joseph and James Silva. Sister of the late Anthony, Herman, Rocco, Susie, Caroline and Rosalie DiOrio and Maryanne Silva.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Wednesday at 9 am. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner Street, Medford, at 10 am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Tuesday 4 thru 8pm. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
