Obituary

Aphrodite (Makris) Stella Fisher, 81, passed away Thursday May15th at the Northwood Nursing Home in Lowell.

She was born August 22, 1926 in Youngstown, Ohio a daughter of the late Christos and Olga Makris.

Mrs. Fisher a long time resident of Lowell worked as a nurses’ aide for many years at the D’Youville Manor Nursing Home in Lowell.

Her family would like to thank the staff and administration of the Northwood Nursing Home for their kindness, caring, and professionalism. And a special thanks to nurse, Christine.

She was a member of St George Greek Orthodox Church in Lowell.

Mrs. Fisher is survived by her son, James P. Fisher and his fiancée Darlene Lachapelle of Lowell, a brother, Charles Makris and his wife Sandy of Haverhill, six grandsons, Justin, Jeremy, Jacob, and Jesse Fisher, James Loughran, and Christopher Wilson; two granddaughters, Jennifer Stuber and Stacey Fisher; three great grandchildren, Cody, Tannon, and Tori; and best friends, Lorraine and Dennis Hartley; also many nieces and nephews.

She was the mom to the late Jess George Fisher and Patrick Raymond Wilson, sister to the late George Makris, Paris Walters, and Helen Malharis.

Friends will be received at the M. R. LAURIN FUNERAL HOME, 295 Pawtucket St. Lowell on Sunday from 3 to 7pm. Her funeral will take place on Monday at 9am from the Funeral Home to be followed by services at St George Greek Orthodox Church at 10am. Interment to follow in Westlawn Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in her memory to St George Church, 44 Princeton Blvd. Lowell, Ma. 01854.
