Obituary

GILFORD

Marjorie “Marge” Jacobs, 73, of 9 Sargent Place died February 28, 2003 in her residence after a sudden illness. She was born in Somerset. England on November 30, 1929, the daughter of Samuel and Florence May Tilley.

Raised in England, her family immigrated to the United State in November 1946. She lived in Laconia until her marriage to William Jacobs in July 1959. Her and her husband made their home in Concord until his death in 1996. Marge relocated to Gilford to be near to her sisters.

Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Jacobs was employed by Sprague Electric of Concord. She had previously been employed at the Belknap Mill in Laconia.

She enjoyed fishing with her late husband and also going along on his hunting trips. Her strong bond with her sisters led to many shopping trips and get-togethers with them and their families.

Family members include two sisters, Winnifred M. Huckins of Gilford and Hazel M. Anair of Barnstead; many nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Calling hours were in the Simoneau & Lambert Funeral Home, 139 Church St., Laconia on Monday from 7 to 9 PM. A funeral ceremony was held in the Funeral Home on Tuesday at 11 AM. Rev. Jonathan Mackenzie officiated. Burial followed in Blossom Hill Cemetery, Concord. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: the National Kidney Foundation of NH, One Tremont St., Concord NH 03301. Timothy C. Molan and David L. Furber were the funeral directors.
