DRACUT – Dorothy M. (Sheppard) Newell, 84, passed away into the loving arms of her Savior, Saturday, May 17th at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston.
Dorothy was the wife of the late Frank H. Newell, Sr. who passed away in 2004 and the loving daughter of the late Harvey B. and Mary Sheppard.
She was a consummate homemaker who loved to read, watch TV, and go on outings with the Senior Bible study group of the Lowell First Church of the Nazarene.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Myles Gardner with whom she resided in Dracut; six grandkids, Gregory and Lori Berry of Colorado, Beverly and Michael Zatowski of Florida, Eric and Jill Berry, Jennifer and John Carroll both of Massachusetts, David and Laurie Gardner, Kristin and Jason Whittemore all of New Hampshire, fourteen great grandkids, Matthew, Heather, Ethan, Tyler, Ethan, Christopher, Courtney, Conor, Joseph, Molly, Jared, Katie, Alex, Brooke; one great-great grandchild Shayla.
She was the mother to the late Barbara Berry and Frank H. Newell, Jr. and grandmother to the late Frank H. Newell III.
Dorothy will be sadly missed by her loving family and many dear friends.
Friends may call at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT on Tuesday from 4 until 8 PM. Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 10 AM at the Lowell First Church of the Nazarene in Lowell. Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery in Wilmington.
