Beloved wife of the late James J. O'Brien. Devoted mother of Anne Marie Nelson-Tisdale and her husband Jonathan of Halifax, Terri O'Donnell and her husband Edward of Duxbury and James J. O'Brien of Quincy. Loving sister of William Joseph Scanlon. Cherished grandmother of Kimberlee Cords, Kevin Nelson, Shawn Brad, and Jenna O'Brien, and great grandmother of Ronan and Alexander Cords, Sydney and Taylor Nelson. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Esther lived in Dorchester prior to moving to Squantum 54 years ago. She was once the secretary to the Major of the Army Corp of Engineers. She later owned the Anne Marie Bakery in Dorchester with her husband from 1945-1969. Mrs. O'Brien loved cruising the world and traveled on over 30 cruises.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., Monday at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in Saint Ann's Church, Wollaston at 10 AM.
Visiting hours Sunday 4-8 PM.
Burial in New Calvary Cemetery, Boston.
