Obituary

Maurice Rosaire Aubin, 82, of Bedford, NH died on May 14,2008 peacefully after a fight with cancer, surrounded by his family in the house he built.

He was born on November 15, 1925, in Manchester, NH, the son of Joseph & Georgiana (Dube) Aubin.

Beloved husband of 55 years to Normande (Simard) Aubin.

Loving father of Norman Aubin, Lionel Aubin, and Ronald G. Aubin of Manchester, NH. Judith Quint of Plattsburg, NY.

A devoted grandfather of Angela and Clifford Quint of Plattsburgh, NY. Justin, Joseph, Cody, Melinda and Jason Aubin of Manchester, NH.

Brother of Dolores Bourque of Benicia, CA, Lillian Pepin of Manchester, NH, Marcel Aubin of Plantation, FL, Donald Aubin of Goffstown, NH.

Mr. Aubin also leaves behind several cousins, nephews, nieces and friends.

Mr. Aubin is a graduate of Manchester High School West. He joined the US Navy at 17 years old serving on the Aircraft Carrier USS Antietam as an Aviation Machinist's Mate, 3rd Class. After an honorable discharge he worked in sheet metal, installing furnaces in many local homes. He then met his wife and had four beautiful children.

Mr. Aubin was a salesman for Genest Bakery transferring to Nissan Bakery until his retirement. He was a Teamster for the Local 633.

Mr. Aubin was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus 5260. He was also an active member of Sacred Heart Parish always available when needed and a volunteer at the NH Food Bank for many years.

For many years he was Committee Chairman for Boy Scout Troop 135, where he used his vacation time for the Scout's annual two week trip while his sons were members of the Troop.

After his retirement he worked at Aubin Hardware for 22 years where he helped many customers with their home repair problems.

Mr. Aubin also enjoyed building things for his home as well as passing his craft to children and grandchildren. He especially loved gardening, from starting his own seeds to harvesting, and always planting extra vegetables to bring to the local Soup Kitchen.

A teacher that guided and challenged. His life's work will be remembered by the good deeds of those who learned from his example.



A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Monday May 19, 2008 at Sacred Heart Church. Burial followed in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
