Maria C. (DiCenso) Vella, of North Reading, formerly of Boston’s North End, died at home Tuesday in the company of her loving family after a long, courageaous battle with cancer. She was 45.
Maria was born and raised in the North End, the daughter of the late Ernesto and the late Maria (Casasanta) DiCenso. After graduating from Julia Billiard High School in the North End she went on to U.Mass. Boston where she earned a degree in computer engineering. She worked for a several major firms, including Hewlett-Packard and Oracle. A North Reading resident for 15 years, Maria was a loving wife, mother and sister.
She was the beloved wife of Joseph Vella. She was a loving mother to Jason and Christopher. She was a dear sister to Louise LoColle and her husband Fernando and Anthony DiCenso.
Family and friends may visit at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Friday from 4 thru 8. Procession will gather at the funeral home Saturday at 8:45 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Leonard Church, Boston’s North End, at 9:45 AM. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, North Reading.
