Obituary

Ann Caroline Pasko, formerly of 106 Lincoln Street, Olyphant, passed away May 12, 2008 at All Saints Catholic Nursing Home in Jacksonville, FL after a brief illness.

She was born in Scranton to Michael Kotson (Kocan) and Caroline A. Fara. She grew up in Olyphant and was a graduate of Olyphant High School and the Powell School of Business.

On February 23, 1938, she married Arthur M. Pasko in Athol Springs, NY. After residing in Wilkes-Barre for several years, they returned to Olyphant where they made their home and raised their three children. Ann was a gifted homemaker who loved cooking, baking, sewing, and her family and friends. Mr. Pasko died in July 1987. Mrs. Pasko was a member of the Mid-Valley Women’s Association and was active with the Lackawanna Lawyers’ Auxiliary. She was a devout Catholic all of her life and was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Church in Olyphant and its Altar & Rosary Society. Throughout her years, she did a considerable amount of volunteer work for various church and civic organizations and was always one of the first to help the needy.

In December 2005, she moved to Jacksonville, FL. In addition to her husband, preceding her in death were a brother, Steven Kotson of Binghamton, NY, sister Olga K. Maloney of Olyphant, and sister Mary K. Picciochi of Peckville, and several nieces and nephews.

Ann is survived by three children: Carole P. (Jack) Faussemagne, of Atlanta, GA; John M. (Pam) Pasko, of Springfield, IL; and Michael A. (Beckie) Pasko, of Jacksonville, FL; two grandchildren: J. Christopher (Katie) Faussemagne of Atlanta, GA, and Michael R. Pasko of Washington, DC; one great-grandchild: John Landreth Faussemagne of Atlanta. She is also survived by niece Mary M. Dabulewicz of Cherry Hill, N.J., many dear friends, and several other nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Monday, May 19, 2008 at St. Michael the Archangel Church, 132 Lincoln Street, Olyphant beginning at 9:00 AM. with funeral services at 10:00 AM., followed by interment at the parish cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ann’s name to All Saints Catholic Nursing Home, 5888 Blanding Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32244.
