Obituary







Corbett T. Fisher, a World War II Veteran and longtime resident of Stoughton, passed away after a brief illness at home under the care of Old Colony Hospice on Thursday May 8, 2008. He was 93 years old. He was the beloved husband of the late Irene K. Fisher. He is survived by his children, John Fisher of Bridgewater, Lawrence Fisher of Lakeville and Barbara ( Fisher) Hartigan of Stoughton. He was also a father to the late Geraldine ( Fisher) Donofrio. Other survivors include his 12 grandchildren, 12 great – grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and his loving companion….. dog “ SAM “.

Born March 2, 1915 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, Mr. Fisher was the son of the late William K. Fisher and Josephine ( Brown ) Fisher. He and his family had resided in the Dorchester section of Boston prior to moving to Stoughton. Mr. Fisher was a self – employed Laborer and Mechanic. He enjoyed the races at The Raynham Dog Track.

PFC Fisher served his country proudly during World War II. He was the recipient of The Good Conduct Medal, The European African Middle Theater Campaign Ribbon and The Victory Medal.

Visiting hours to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend will be held on Monday May 12, 2008 from 4 – 8 P.M. in the Sheehan Funeral Home, 115 Monk Street, Stoughton. Funeral services and interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations to The MSPCA, 1300 W. Elm St. Ext. Brockton, MA 02301 in Corbett’s memory, would be appreciated.
