Obituary


WORCESTER-John Fosu, 69, passed away suddenly on Thursday, April 10, 2008 at St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester after a heart surgical procedure.

He leaves behind his wife of 56 years, Janet (Nyarko) Fosu; five sons, namely: Elijah K. Fosu, Alex Fosu, Benjamin Fosu, David P. Fosu and Daniel K. Fosu. Three daughters, viz: Josephine Fosu, Ophelia Fosu and Afia Yeboah; and his nephew, Alex Mensah.

He also leaves behind 10 Grand-children, Aganes Mensah, Mannas Fosu, Bridget Mensah, Frank Mensah, Joel Fosu, Ariana Asomah, Naashon Fosu, Mason Fosu, Briana Sackey and Jasman Sackek.

He was born in Ghana, West Africa, the son of Kobina and Akua (Mansa) Yeboah. Mr. Fosu worked as Secretary at the American Embassy, Accra, Ghana for 25 years and 18 years as Mental Health Worker with the Worcester State Hospital before retiring.
He was a devout Christian and a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Worcester, MA.

Mr. Fosu’s Funeral will be held on Saturday,May 17 at 10:00 AM at First Assembly of God Church, 30 Tyler-Prentise Rd. Interment will be at Hope Cemetery, Worcester. Visiting hours will be Friday, May 16 from 6:00pm until 9:00 PM at CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St. Worcester.
