Mel K. Faulkner died Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at his home in Water Valley, MS at the age of 85. A graveside service will be held Saturday, May 10, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. in Sylva Rena Cemetery in Water Valley, MS with Bro. James West Presiding. The members of the Point Pleasant Hunting Club will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Celeste Robertson Faulkner, who resides in the Yalobusha Nursing Home; his son Keith Faulkner and daughter-in-law Mary Jane of Greenwood, MS; his grandson, Rob Faulkner, his wife Allison, and their sons Taylor and Zane of Greenwood, MS; and his grandson, John Faulkner, his wife Holly and their daughters, Mary-Britton and Anna Hollis of Senatobia, MS.
He was a partner with his son in K&M Auto Parts Company in Greenwood, MS until 1994 when he retired. He was a member of the Sylva Rena Baptist Church in Water Valley, MS and a charter member of the Point Pleasant Hunting Club.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Faulkner; his mother, Ruth Givens Faulkner; and his brothers, Ottis, John, and Glen Faulkner.
