Mona (Wilkinson) Teixeira, 89, of New Bedford died May 8, 2008 at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late William and Agnes (Bain) Wilkinson, she lived in New Bedford most of her life.
Mrs. Teixeira was formerly employed as a nurse at St. Luke's Hospital for 35 years until retirement. She was a Librarian at the Millicent Library in Fairhaven many years ago.
She enjoyed spending time with her grandsons and listening to their sporting events on the radio, painting and the Boston Red Sox.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Lynne Jachna of Schenectady, NY and Heidi Walsh, and her husband Pat, of New Bedford; 5 grandsons, Matthew Jachna, Tim Walsh, Ryan Walsh, Patrick Walsh and Michael Walsh; a great-grandson, Colin Jachna.
