Obituary

Mary E. (Pagnotta) Taxiera, 94, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at the Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton on Wednesday, May 7. She was the beloved wife of 70 years of the late Joseph J. Taxiera, who died 3 months ago. Born in Brockton the daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine (Ventra) Pagnotta, she was a resident of Stoughton for 70 years. Mrs. Taxiera was a graduate of Brockton schools, as well as New England School of Art and Chicago Institute of Art, focusing on Interior Design. Along with her husband, she was the owner and interior designer of Modern Home Decorators in Stoughton for 45 years before retiring 10 years ago. In her free time she enjoyed gardening and baking and was known to many as the “Muffin Queen.”

Mrs. Taxiera is survived by her sisters, Katherine L. Marella of Falmouth and Margaret G. LaFleur of Bridgewater as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Leo J., Larry and William H. Pagnotta.

Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Saturday, May 10 at 8 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 9 AM. Visiting Hours Friday 4-7 PM. Burial will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Stoughton. Donations in Mary‘s memory may be made to American Heart Assn., 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
