Obituary

LOWELL, MA- Lydia D. (Dufresne) Laflamme, 91, a longtime resident of the Pawtucketville section of Lowell, died Tuesday May 6th. She was the wife of the late Edmond A. Laflamme, who died in 1980.
She was born in Lowell on May 10, 1916, and was the daughter of the late Edward P. and Edwardina (LeBoeuf) Dufresne. She received her education in Lowell schools and was a graduate of Lowell Trade School.
Mrs. Laflamme spent most of her life tending to the needs of her home and family. Until just a few months ago, she was employed for over 25 years at the rectory of St. Rita Church in Lowell.
She was an avid bowler and continued to bowl until just a couple of weeks ago. She also enjoyed playing bingo and spending time with her grandchildren.
She was an active communicant of St. Rita Church and was a member of the St. Rita Woman's Club.
She is survived by five children Andre Laflamme Sr., and his wife Carole of Hudson, NH, Elaine St. Germain and her husband Normand of Woonsocket, RI, Dorothy Wirzburger and her husband Paul of Wolfboro, NH, Marion Blanchette and her husband Roger of Lowell, and Robert Laflamme of Lowell; a daughter-in-law Joanne Laflamme of Lowell 13 grandchildren, Michael Laflamme and his wife Lisa Walker, David Laflamme, John Laflamme and his wife Sandy, Thomas Laflamme and his wife Grace, Andre E. Laflamme, Jr. and his wife Donna, Andrea Beland and her husband Charles, Norel-Marie Vandenais and her husband Brandon, Brian St. Germain, Robin Wade and her husband Dean, Gail Mousseau and her husband Mark, Roger Blanchette, Jr. and his wife Melissa, Christopher Blanchette and his companion Colleen Pratt, and Matthew Laflamme and his wife Sarah, 23 great grandchildren, Joshua Laflamme, Stacey Carey, Derrick Laflamme, Max Laflamme, Gus Laflamme, Edward Laflamme, Jason Laflamme, Tara Laflamme, Lily Laflamme, Brittney Beland, Brianna Beland, Nicholas Beland, Brandon Blanchette, Tyler Blanchette, Taylor Blanchette, Jessica Wade, Emily Wade Victoria Wade, Andrea Wade, Haillie Mousseau, McKenna Vandenais, Brady Vandenais, and Benjamin Vandenais; 11 great great grandchildren, Abigail Carey, Camille Carey, Simon Carey, Ephran Carey, Meadow Laflamme, Bodie Laflamme, Zachary Dionne, Jasmine Michaud, Cassandra Laflamme, Jonathan Laflamme, and Adam M. Laflamme; a sister-in-law Geraldine Dufresne of Manchester, NH; several nieces and nephews, and many, many loving and caring friends. She was also the sister of the late Raymond Dufresne, Edward Dufresne, and Albini Dufresne.

Friends may call at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT, on Thursday from 4 until 8PM. Her funeral will be held from the funeral home on Friday at 9 AM, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10 AM at St. Rita Church in Lowell. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery in Chelmsford. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to the Memorial and Honor Program, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105.
