Lake Worth, Florida - Lucille P. Ouellette, born January 11, 1924 in Laconia New Hampshire to Napoleon and Albertine (Chartier) Bourque, died in Lake Worth, Florida, May 4, 2008 at age 84.
Lu attended schools in Belmont and Laconia, ultimately receiving a GED. She was working as a weaver in a textile mill when she met and married her husband, Oliva A. Ouellette, in Stewartstown, New Hampshire on July 7, 1948. They resided in the Ouellette family home in Laconia, where Lu kept the accounts for Oliva’s welding shop and raised their three children. She also served as a Girl Scout leader and a Boy Scout leader, and was a member of the Ladies of Sacred Heart, and Catholic Daughters of America. Always fashionable in her appearance, Lu was equally at home negotiating for a good bargain at a yard sale or hosting family and friends at a barbecue, both of which she loved to do. Extremely social, Lu’s focus was always on enjoying her family and friends and encouraging each one to reach their potential and live their life to the fullest, as she herself did. She never stopped trying new things; she enjoyed fishing and clamming, motor coaching, camping, card and horseshoe playing as well as bowling and golf. Lu and Oliva wintered in Phoenix, Arizona until 2007, when they moved to Lake Worth, Florida to reside with their daughter, Donna.
Lu is predeceased by siblings/in-laws; Aime Bourque, Anne and Philip Bracy, Joseph and Helena Bourque, and John Glines; son Paul Ouellette; daughter-in-law Cindy Morency; and grandson Paul Ouellette II.
