Obituary

Carl Heinz Alberg, passed on April 29, 2008 after a long Illness. Born, to the late Richard and Erna Alberg, in Bad Schmiedeberg, Germany. His family came to the United States in 1924 and settled in Pawtucket, RI. He served his country honorably as an Army Staff Sergeant in the Asiatic Pacific Theater during WWII. He retired, after many years, from Berndt Manufacturing in Cranston, RI. In his retirement he worked for Precise Products in Lincoln, RI.

He moved to Westport, MA as a full time resident in 1971, and was a member of Westport VFW Post 8502.

He loved to sing, his beautiful tenor voice could be heard as a member of the Providence Schubert Chor for over 60 years. He thanked God for his gift by singing many solo’s as a member the choirs at St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Pawtucket and Westport Point Methodist Church.

He will be deeply missed by his loving family including his bride of 65years, Evelyn E. (Potuchek) of Westport, his sons Carl K. and Alan W., both of Westport, his grandson Christopher and wife Nina of Westwood, his granddaughters Jessica of Westport and Valerie of New Bedford and 2 great grandsons, Erich and Scott Alberg of Westwood.

He was the brother of Richard F. Alberg of Pawtucket and the late William G. Alberg. He also leaves several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday June 7, 2008 at 10:30 AM at Westport Point United Methodist Church.
