Lorraine A (Thomas) Travers, beloved wife of the late Karl O Travers, died May 1, 2008 at her daughters home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Brockton to the late Orwell Thomas and Alice (Godsoe) Thomas, she was also daughter to the late Evelyn Thomas who raised her. Mrs. Travers was a resident of Brockton for many years, before moving to Stoughton and Middleboro. She loved arts and crafts, but anyone who knew her would tell you her greatest love was spending time with her family.
She is survived by her five loving daughters Suzanne Faria of Brockton, Alicia McSweeney of Stoughton, Kimberly Wilson of Middleboro, Tracy Travers and Tammy O'Loughlin both of Brockton.
She was the devoted Nana to Nicole, Brittany, James, Brian, Paige, Karl, Kory, Katelyn, Amy, Kelly and Eric, and was the great grandmother of Damien. She was the sister of Katherine Picchione of Halifax, Alice Gomes of Brockton, William Thomas of Arlington and the late Constance Duff and Shirley Cort.
Family and friends are invited to attend Funeral Prayers offered in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Wednesday, May 7 at 10 AM. Donations in her memory may be sent to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Burial will be private.
