BEVERLY: John C. Marshall, Jr., 44, died unexpectedly, Thursday, May 1, 2008 in Portland, Maine.
Born in Beverly on March 3, 1964, he was the son of John C. Marshall of Beverly and the late Caryl F. (Keane) Marshall. He was a graduate of Beverly High School class of 1983. He had also served his country in the U.S. Army, being honorably discharged in February 1988.
John enjoyed playing his guitar and often composing his own music. He also loved to work on automobiles and motorcycles. An avid traveler, he was a friend to many and had a great sense of humor.
In addition to his father, he is survived by five sisters and two brothers-in-law, Kathy Conlon, Jae Armenta, Ann Marie and Eric Murray and Louise Marshall all of Beverly and Lynda and David Gotts of Danvers and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
His funeral services will be held on Tuesday in the Grondin Funeral Home, 376 Cabot Street, Beverly at 11a.m. Visiting hours will be held on Monday from 5 -8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the American Diabetes Assoc., 330 Congress St., 5th Floor, Boston, MA 02110 or to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701. Interment will be held in the Puritan Lawn Cemetery, W. Peabody.
