Obituary

Elsie Cecelia Marie ( Hagg ) Farmer, a resident of Randolph for the past 75 years, formerly of Stoughton, passed away in her home, surrounded by her loving family, on Wednesday April 30, 2008. She was 100 years old. She was the loving wife of the late Garfield Farmer Sr.

She is survived by her granddaughters, Beth Porter and her husband Scott of Bremen, Ohio, Patricia Benson and her husband Don of Apex, North Carolina, Alice Farmer of Atlanta, Georgia, her grandsons, Eric Farmer and his wife Danielle of Randolph, Massachusetts, Todd Farmer and his wife Mary Ellen of Scituate and Kenneth Farmer of Braintree, Massachusetts. She is also survived by her 12 great – grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Farmer was preceded in death by her sons, Garfield Farmer Jr. and Albert Farmer, and her siblings, Arthur, Oscar, Albert and Mabel E. Hagg and Signe E. Mann.

Born March 28, 1908, in Stoughton, Massachusetts, she was a daughter of the late Oscar and Elena ( Peterson ) Hagg.

Elsie was devoted to her family and loved them all very much. She cherished every moment of the time she had with her family and had so many stories to tell. She loved to bake cookies and had the opportunity to mail them all over the country. In the summer you could find her in the garden and enjoying her swing out back.

A seamstress, Elsie retired from the Sealy Mattress Company in Randolph, Massachusetts and was a former employee of Peterson Awning. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Randolph, Massachusetts and a former member of The First United Methodist Church of Stoughton, Massachusetts.

She belonged to the sewing club and always made sure she had time for lunch with her family members. She will be dearly missed by all.

Visiting hours to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend will be held on Friday May 2, 2008 from 4 – 8 P.M. in The Sheehan Funeral Home, 115 Monk Street, Stoughton. Her funeral service will be held on Saturday May 3, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. in the funeral home. The Reverend Ken Stanford, officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton.
