Obituary

Alfred “Fred” L. Tocco passed away on April 28, 2008 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was 80 years old.

A life-long resident of Malden, Fred worked for Sunnyhurst Dairy for many years. He was retired from General Foods in Woburn where he worked for 10 years. Fred loved to paint and restore statues and loved to work in his garden. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps for 8 years during WWII and the Korean War. He was also a member of the I.T.A.M.S. Club and the American Legion in Malden.

Fred was married to Elisa (Ramondi) Tocco, his loving wife for 55 years. He was the beloved father of Maria D’Orsi and her husband Richard of Medford, Susan Catricala and her husband Victor of Malden, Elisa Tocco-Leonard and her husband Richard of Malden and Alfred L. Tocco Jr. and his wife Dawn of Londonderry, NH. He was the dear brother of Josephine Moro of Malden and the late Mario, Anthony and Virginia Tocco, Mary Marcoux, Angie Woszczyna, Celia Danca and Isabelle Fontana. He was the cherished grandfather of Domenic and Christina D’Orsi, Victor and Christian Catricala, Richard, Alexandra and Mark Leonard and Antonia and Nicholas Tocco and the great-grandfather of Gianna D’Orsi. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

The Funeral will be held from the A. J. Spadafora Funeral Home, 865 Main Street, Malden on Thursday May 1st at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in the Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant Street, Malden at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours are Wednesday, April 30th from 4-8 p.m. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden. In lieu of flowers, donations in Fred's memory may be made to the family and will be forwarded to the Padre Pio Hospital Building Fund.
