Obituary

Peter J. Wright, 66 years of Brockton died Sunday, April 27, 2008 after a long fight with cancer. He was the husband of Nelly E.C. (Severiens) Wright; Son of Louise B. (Bergeron) Wright of Brockton and the late Albert F. Wright. Peter was born, raised in Quincy, educated in Brockton and was a Brockton High School graduate Class of 1959. At the age of seventeen he enlisted in the Air Force and was a career Air Force Veteran serving in Vietnam. He was a Marksmanship Instructor and traveled extensively with the military throughout the world. After 26 years he retired as a Senior Master Sergeant.
He received two Associate degrees and worked as a Computer Programmer while in the Air force and following retirement from the military, for National Amusements in Dedham from 1987 till his retirement in 2006 due to poor health. Mr. Wright has a passion for golf and enjoyed playing in many tournaments throughout the area as well as leisurely games locally at DW Field and Spring Valley Golf Course.
Peter will be remembered as a “participator not spectator” he enjoyed being active in life and not watching it from the sidelines.

In addition to his wife and mother he is survived by two daughters, Debi Stephens and her husband Eric of Cape Coral, FL; Robin Dion and her husband David of Brockton and a son Peter Grootveld of Holland. He is the proud Grandfather of Chelsea, Kasey, Julia, Wesley, Jesse and a great grandfather to Marvin, and brother of David A. and Gary W. Wright both of FL.

Visitation and Celebration will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Thursday from 4-8. Cremation will follow. Donations in memory of Peter may be made to Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 9 Erie Drive, Suite 101, Natick, MA 01760 for online donations click here
