WORCESTER: Stephen W. "Toy" O'Day, 49, of 25 Almont Ave., died Sunday, April 27, 2008, in UMass Memorial Medical Center- University Campus, after being stricken ill at home.
He leaves a son, Patrick S. O'Day; two daughters, Julianne E. and Grace E. O'Day, all of Worcester; three brothers, John F. O'Day, Jr. and his wife Marlene of Auburn, Robert T. O'Day of Andover, Timothy J. O'Day and his wife Theresa of Westborough; a sister, Kathleen M. O'Day of Arlington, VA; his loving companion, Kim Hamilton of Worcester; two aunts, Rita E. Cawley of Holden, Gertrude T. O'Connor of Worcester; his former wife, Marianne (May) O'Day of Worcester; and several nieces and nephews.
He was born in Worcester, son of the late John F. and Eileen A. (O'Connor) O'Day, and was a graduate of Holy Name High School. He attended Worcester State College and was a life long Worcester resident.
Steve was a licensed electrician and worked for several companies in the Worcester area. He was a member of St. Stephen's Church and an avid fan of Boston sports teams.
CALLING HOURS will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 1, in KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 154 Lincoln St. A FUNERAL MASS will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 2, in ST. STEPHEN'S CHURCH, 357 Grafton St. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery.
The family suggests donations in memory of Steve be made to St. Stephen's Parish Restoration Fund, 16 Hamilton St., Worcester, MA 01604.
