Rose C. Indoccio, 83, of Derry, NH, died Sunday, April 27, 2008 peacefully at her home with her husband and her loving family at her side on her 62nd wedding anniversary. Rose was born in Natick, MA on May 12, 1924, a daughter of the late Augustino and Jenny (Erra) Meo. She grew up in Natick and graduated from the Natick School System. Rose worked as a welder for Raytheon during WWII. She met her future husband, Vito Indoccio in 1942 and they were married in Natick in 1946 upon his return from WWII. Together with his brothers they opened Home Food Kitchen, Derry’s first bakery, where she worked as a cake decorator. She then went to work as the bookkeeper for the family business, Merrimac Tile in Derry. She worked there over 40 years retiring in 1989. In retirement she enjoyed trips to Florida, the experience of Rockingham Park as well as shopping and going out to dinner. She was a communicant of St. Thomas Aquinas and was very family oriented.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Vito “Vic” Indoccio of Derry, two daughters, Joann Russo and her husband Richard of Derry, Carol Rose Indoccio of Derry, four grandchildren, Theresa Small and her husband Butch, Lisa Noonan and her husband Tim, Richard Russo, Jr. and his wife Vicki, Amber Rose Indoccio, eight great-grandchildren, Anthony, Leanna, Samantha, Courtni, Stephanie, Alyssa, Timothy and Emma, a great-great-grandchild, Hailey Rose, a sister, Mary Byrne of Charlestown, MA and also by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Nick Meo.
Visiting hours were held 4-8pm Thursday, May 1, 2008 in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10:00am Friday, May 2 in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 26 Crystal Ave., Derry. The burial was in Forest Hill Cemetery, E. Derry.
