Obituary

N. CHELMSFORD- Raymond J. Fugere, 84, a resident of North Chelmsford, and former resident of Hudson, NH, and the "little Canada" section of Lowell died Monday April 21st at Lowell General Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Angela L. (Desrosiers) Fugere to whom he has been married for 65 years.

He was born in Lowell on March 12, 1924, and was the son of the late Gaudias and Yvonne (Boutilette) Fugere. He received his education in Lowell schools.

Mr. Fugere served in the United States Navy during World War II.

Prior to his retirement, he was employed for 17 years as a group leader by Wang Laboratories in Lowell. Earlier in his career he was employed by Sunoco Product and McGowan Educator, both in Lowell

Mr. Fugere enjoyed fishing and was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots.

He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law Robert and Elizabeth Fugere of Townsend; two daughters and sons-in-law Claudette and Roger Judge of North Chelmsford, and Dorothy and Leonard Surprenant of North Chelmsford; eight grandchildren Angela Baldwin and her husband William of Hudson, NH, Leonard Surprenant and his wife Jody of CA, Michael Surprenant of Lowell, Brian Judge of Lowell, Michelle Adamczyk and her husband Joe of Dracut, Stephen Judge and his wife Cameron of Melrose, Jennifer Leadway and her husband Ron of Woodruff, SC, and Jamie VanNess and her husband David of Fitchburg; seventeen great grandchildren Emi Judge, Derek Adamczyk, Paige Adamczyk, Nicole Baldwin, Danielle Baldwin, Jonathan Baldwin, Amber Baldwin, David Baldwin, Jacob Surprenant, Taylor Surprenant, Zachary Surprenant, David DeJesus, Madalyn Lendway, Olivia Lendway, Bellah Rose VanNess, Caleb VanNess, and Brody VanNess; a great great grandchild Alexandria Baldwin; two sisters Florence Fontaine of Lowell, and Jeanette Wilson of Dracut; sister-in-law, Irene Fugere; and many nieces and nephews.

He was also the brother of the late George Fugere and Rita Edmond.

It being his wishes calling hours have been omitted and funeral services will be private. Donations may be made in his name to the National Kidney Foundation, Inc., 30 East 33rd St., New York, NY 10016. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT.
