Beverly (Payson) Allen, 84, of Falmouth, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, April 20, 2008 at Falmouth Hospital.
Born in Dartmouth, daughter of the late Fred E. and Lilleous A. (Hills) Payson, she had lived in Dartmouth for most of her life prior to moving to Falmouth 25 years ago. She graduated from Bristol Community College in 1974 with an Associate of Arts Degree and from Framingham State College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Clothing Textile Teaching in 1976 and taught men’s tailoring classes. Beverly was a Certified Home Economist and was accepted into a Professional Fraternity (Honor Society) “Phi Upsilon Omicron, Beta Pi Chapter” of the American Home Economics Association. Mrs. Allen spent 3 years in Kingston, Jamaica, West Indies and spent 2 years in Lesotho, Southern Africa, as a Peace Corps Volunteer.
Survivors include 2 daughters: Jeryl L. Quick and her husband John of Little Compton, RI and Cheryl A. Hamel and her husband Victor of Lowell, MA; a brother: Sterling Payson of Falmouth, MA; and several nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
